If you are planning to have a trip to Maldives, here are 10 things that you may consider adding to your itinerary to make your vacation jam-packed with activities and make every second of your trip worthwhile.

  1. Get a better grasp of Maldives’ culture by visiting the Maldives National Museum. You will find a vast collection of artifacts there that reflect the history of the place.
  2. Go on a fishing trip. You can hire a speedboat that is fully equipped with all the tools you need to catch some snappers or groupers.
  3. Ride a submarine and be treated to the life under water in Male. This is a great way to see astounding and colorful coral reefs.
  4. Enjoy the beauty of Maldives from the sky. There are seaplane tours available that will fly you around Maldives so that you can see its spectacle through a bird’s eye view. Remember to bring your camera with you to get some really nice photos.
  5. Go diving and snorkeling. The marine life in Maldives is very much protected so you are bound to see lively reefs and a wide variety of fishes. Try doing this in Fish Head, Helengeli Thila, and Addu Atoll.
  6. Visit some religious temples and sites. There is the ruin of a Buddhist temple in Kudahuvadhoo, for instance, and there are plenty of architecturally fascinating mosques, like the Grand Friday Mosque in Male.
  7. Join an eco-friendly activity. Most resorts have a marine biology lab that will let you take part in laying coral reefs and taking care of marine animals that are in captivity.
  8. Have a romantic boat cruise. This is a relaxing way to see the islands as you enjoy a nice drink on a wooden boat.
  9. Watch some dolphins. The locals there have a way of attracting dolphins by sounding some traditional drums. Soon enough you will be face to face with these friendly creatures of the sea.
  10. Enjoy the markets. Take time to buy some local crafts and work of arts. You may just be able to find something to take back home as a souvenir of your trip.
